Why we love Huka Lodge
Originally founded in 1924, by an Irishman no less, Huka Lodge is today one of the most celebrated luxury lodges in New Zealand (and indeed beyond) and needs little introduction. With its magnificent setting on the banks of the Waikato River, close to the spectacular Huka Falls, and a guest book full of famous names, today’s guests can be assured of the absolute best in Kiwi hospitality.
Twenty Junior Lodge Guest Suites are dotted amongst 17 acres of parkland, each in a private setting with exquisite décor, and an impressive opening directly onto the Waikato River, bringing the spectacular natural landscape inside. In addition, there are 2 exclusive multi bedroom residences, perfect for house parties.
For those who drag themselves away from the lodge, New Zealand offers spectacular hiking and mountain biking trails not to mention a whole host of hi-adrenalin activities. Others prefer to enjoy the beautiful grounds of the lodge indulging in gentler pursuits such as tennis, croquet, or just reading a book. Daily changing seasonal menus display the very best in New Zealand’s culinary scene and are partnered with a magnificent wine list. Guests can dine in the sumptuous surrounds of the main lodge or choose one of the many unique settings dotted around the lodge.
