Daintree Rainforest, Australia

Why we love Silky Oaks Lodge

A visit to Daintree National Park is a highlight of any trip to Tropical North Queensland and for a stay immersed in luxury as well as jungle chic look no further than Silky Oaks Lodge. Set amongst the oldest living rainforest in the world, the lodge reopened late 2021 following a comprehensive refurbishment that elevated this renowned tropical resort to a whole new level.

Today there are 40 luxury treehouse-style suites creatively designed to allow guests to fully appreciate their World Heritage-listed natural surroundings. Contemporary interiors with wooden floors and natural tones perfectly complement the vibrant greenery outside while spacious verandahs feature large hammocks for lying back and soaking up the sounds of the rainforest.

The list of things to do here is endless – as well as a whole host of local activities within the Daintree Rainforest, Silky Oaks Lodge is the ideal base from which to experience some of Australia’s best-known attractions including the Great Barrier Reef and Cape Tribulation (there are daily shuttles into Port Douglas). Back at the lodge, dining is a treat for all the senses combining fine cuisine with the sights and sounds of the rainforest while the Healing Waters Spa offers soothing treatments surrounded by nature’s healing sounds – what a way to relax!
