Capella Lodge

Lord Howe Island, Australia

Why we love Capella Lodge

With an exceptional location on Lord Howe Island, Capella Lodge is the place to go for a wonderfully off-the-grid experience. The first property in the Baillie Lodges portfolio, this is the ultimate in castaway island escapes!

Set in a pristine natural environment overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Capella Lodge resembles a chic Australian beach house – the vibe here is intimate, laid back, relaxed. Floor to ceiling windows bring the outside in and allow residents to enjoy panoramic views of the island and ocean. There are only nine guest suites, all of which are spacious, beautifully appointed, and filled with natural light. Private decks offer out of this world views of the Pacific and the dramatic twin peaks of Mounts Gower and Lidgbird.

While away the days discovering this tiny yet breath-taking island (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982). At only 11km long and 2.8km at its widest point, the island is easily explored by bicycle and Capella Lodge provides them free for guests (e-bike are available for hire). Afterwards, chill out at the beach or in the dreamy spa before enjoying the complimentary open bar (from 6pm daily) and dining on Pacific-inspired cuisine and matching wines.
